Life is a journey.

Once again it has been a long time sinc we have posted anything to our blog.  Today we have some exciting news to share.

This life is a journey, we never really know where it will take us. Living the Christian life adds a different element to the journey. Trusting God for everything is something that we have tried to do from the beginning of our relationship. Shortly after getting married we met the Moore’s who are missionaries to Kenya. That divine appointment changed our lives and we have never been the same. Our trips to Kenya have been life changing and we love it there! Serving beside our friends and seeing the Lord’s work there has been amazing. If that is God’s call, one day we will accept it. We really do want to spend more time in Kenya each year because two weeks is just not enough. We would love to spend two to three months there each year while the mission teams are there.

God guided David to start a missions degree a couple of years ago. He is just about finished and we are excited to see what doors open up once he is done. David has always had a dream of having a small ranch that could be used for ministry as well. Mentoring young men: helping them learn respect, honor, work ethic and how to be a Christian young man would be great. He believes it is really lacking in the world today. The bigger part of the dream is that it can be a retreat center for missionaries and pastors. We have seen that many missionaries fly home for furlough and hit the ground running to present their work at churches and visit family and never actually get a time of refreshment while they are home from the field. We want them to have a place to rest and debrief before they actually hit the road.
So how do the Hayes’ reach the dreams of a ranch retreat center and more time in Kenya? That is the million dollar question. God has given us another dream that we pray will help us get there. Kim Hayes Photography has really been blessed with some of the best clients in the world. We are so very thankful for each one of them. Our dream is for David to eventually leave his current job and start doing photography full time. We believe that this will take the business to the next level and provide for much of the dream. The next part of the dream is that we have put our house up for sale. In just a couple of days on the market, we have had multiple great offers and have a contract pending. We will be downsizing everything to save money to help make this dream happen. Our home has been an awesome place of rest and peace. Many of you have been here and shared many laughs, great meals and shed a few tears. We have hosted birthday parties, life groups, had several people live with us and used it for the Glory of our Father. This has been a tough choice because we love our home so much.
Would you please pray for us and with us as we seek God’s guidance and provision in all of this? We believe that God is in control and we are stepping out on faith and trusting Him to provide all of the things we need. Our prayer requests are: for His peace and guidance in all that we do, wedding clients for 2016, easy move after the house sells, finding the best property for the retreat center in the future and provision for ministry in Kenya.
